Junaid lynching case: Primary accused held in Maharashtra

Despite the police being extremely cautious and tight-lipped about the case, it was reported that Rakh had found a job in Maharashtra.The man who was identified as Naresh Rakh detained and questioned by the police on Saturday and will be produced in a court in Faridabad on Sunday.Goyal also said that the main accused has not mentioned anything about beef, as the cause of the entire incident.Government Railway Police (GRP), in a statement said, a team was sent to Dhule following on a tip- off that the accused was hiding there. The murder weapon is yet to be recovered, but the accused has told the police that the knife is still with him. It is an ongoing, open investigation.The next hearing will be on July 11.The police added that the accused has confessed to the crime of stabbing Junaid and his brothers. “We are living in fear”, Junaid’s father Jalaluddin said today. Such incidents are happening everyday in every parts of the nation.The police had, earlier arrested five persons including a Delhi government employee in connection with the killing of Junaid between Ballabgarh and Mathura stations onboard a Delhi-Mathura passenger train.Police said Rakh would not remain in the same location for long after a reward of Rs 2 lakh was announced for anyone who would provide credible information about him. He is said to have gotten involved at a point, after which he stabbed Junaid and his brothers.Junaid and his brothers, who were returning to Ballabhgarh after shopping for Eid in Delhi, were attacked by a mob on a train on June 22. The youth’s body was dumped close to Asaoti village in Faridabad district.
