Lynda Carter Joins 'Wonder Woman 2'

Wonder Woman 2 is unsurprisingly in the works and the hype generated right now is centered on Gal Gadot. However, she is not the first one who actually put the super heroine in the map but Lynda Carter.

Seeing how remakes have seen the cameo appearances of celebrities who have starred before, Lynda Carter confirms that she is in talks to appear in the Wonder Woman sequel during a recent chat with People. Talks are on between her and director Patty Jenkins and may only be a matter of time before this falls through.

“We were trying to get me in the first one and we couldn’t make it work with our timing,” Carter revealed. “It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do.”

Wonder Woman 2 director status uncertain

It would be best to point out here that the one talking to Carter is Jenkins. In a previous post, it was mentioned that there is still no certainty if she will return to direct Wonder Woman 2. Regardless, most are confident that she will return for the sequel.

That presumption is backed by the blockbuster performance of Wonder Woman in the box office. To date, Wonder Woman is assured of earning $390 million plus – better than any superhero movie in the last 15 years according to the Hollywood Reporter.

From that performance alone, Jenkins has more than earned the distinction to follow up the film with another stint. And based on a Twitter exchange, Lynda Carter fetes Jenkins on her work and may eventually turn out to be the bind to get the 70s star onboard.

Lynda Carter is active in the DC world

While the inclusion of Lynda Carter remains a question, she does have ties with the DC universe. She has been appearing on the CW TV series Supergirl as the fictional U.S. President Olivia Marsdin who is actually an alien in disguise.

Though she only makes occasional appearances, Carter’s stint on Supergirl could prime her up for a bigger (cameo) role on Wonder Woman 2. It may not be groundbreaking as to the real fate of Steve Trevor but seeing the original Wonder Woman alongside Gadot should be something to look forward to.

With timing essential, all eyes are on Justice League part 1 movie set to debut in November. Fans are encouraged to check that out seeing how the films have sub plots leading to the individual film releases.
