Sam Heughan Reveals His ‘Outlander’ Workout Plan for His Sexy Body!

Outlander star Sam Heughan revealed his training plan to achieve Jamie Fraser’s sexy body. Heughan will be on the August issue cover of Men’s Health South Africa where he shared his training routine to keep his toned body.

In a brief clip posted by Men’s Health South Africa on its social media accounts, Heughan (Jaime) is seen shirtless while working with a kettle bell and doing some overhead lifts. The magazine added that Heughan provides some behind-the-scene details from Outlander Season 3 as well as his charity work in My Peak Challenge.

“Our cover guy @samheughan shares the training plan that got him in TOP shape for his role in @outlander_starz – and chats about his awesome philanthropy work with @mypeakchallenge,” the publication wrote.

Heughan also shared the magazine cover on his Instagram account. He thanked Men’s Health SA and a couple of gyms. Heughan, Caitriona Balfe (Claire), and the rest of Outlander cast and crew spent a long period in South Africa for the upcoming season of the Starz series. It looks like the hunk found some local gyms and still squeezed in some time to work out.

Sam Heughan Workout Routine

In a 2015 interview, the Scottish actor admitted that he trains almost every day after filming Outlander. He usually runs but also hits the gym. Heughan told The Box Magazine that they built a gym in the studio where Outlander is filming. He said they have some bar, plates, TRX and a rower on their gym.

“Any of the physical stuff we do on set, a lot of the sword-fighting, I just feel very agile and strong and I don’t feel I’m ever challenged, and I think that’s definitely down to the conditioning that we do and a lot of long hours,” he said.

In another interview, Heughan said since Jaime Fraser is a well-built man, he did deadlifts and a lot of conditioning work before he started portraying the character. “Before I got the job I was probably around 82-84 kg. I was doing a lot of running … but I had to look a bit bigger and I needed to look like someone who could take care of himself. He [Jamie] is an outdoors man and a warrior,” he told Men’s Fitness.
