The Titanic cast members reunite! As per reports, Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, and even Billy Zane were recently spotted together. Is an all-out Titanic cast reunion now in the works?
Titanic Cast Reunion With Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, and Billy Zane
Reportedly, the three Titanic stars met up at The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation’s annual fundraising dinner. The fundraising gala was an event that aims to raise money in order to fight against global warming. Some may find this to be an ironic coincidence, as the Titanic film saw several characters meeting their demise due to a form of nature itself: an iceberg.
Zane seems to think the same way as well. He writes, “Gangs back together. Now we’re saving icebergs.” The post shows himself with Winslet and DiCaprio at the fundraising event enjoying each other’s company.
Though the picture does not necessarily signify a reunion in the works, it’s still something for fans to dwell on fondly. After all, Zane portrayed what was essentially the antagonist of Titanic. DiCaprio and Winslet, meanwhile, have often starred opposite each other several years after their famous onscreen romance in Titanic.
Dinner With Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet
Besides raising funds for the betterment of the environment, DiCaprio and Winslet are also auctioning off a private dinner with themselves. The highest bidder will thus be able to enjoy a private date with the two Titanic stars. Proceeds from the auction will go to DiCaprio’s charity to support its environmental efforts. Additionally, the proceeds will also go to a GoFundMe campaign of a young mother struggling to pay for her cancer treatments.
Notably, last year’s charity auction managed to raise a record $45 million. It boasted of high-profile guests such as Tobey Maguire, Naomi Campbell, Bradley Cooper, Bono, Edward Norton, and several others. This time around, the event reported featured a special performance by Lenny Kravitz.
Leonardo DiCaprio and The Right Stuff
In other updates regarding DiCaprio, the Titanic star is slated to develop a scripted series adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s The Right Stuff. DiCaprio will be onboard as an executive producer alongside Jennifer Davisson. They will be working with National Geographic to bring the project to life.
For the uninitiated, The Right Stuff tells the tale of U.S. pilots involved in aeronautical research. Their work ultimately became the basis of the American space program, as well as the first Mercury astronauts. DiCaprio’s venture into this project will be a new iteration of the book, as it was previously adapted as a feature film back in 1983.
