Tom Hiddleston's Loki Partners with Thanos in 'Avengers: Infinity War', Trailer Reveals

Marvel enthusiasts saw a first glimpse of the Avengers: Infinity War trailer, which apparently showed Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, at the D23 Expo 2017. Though it seems like the malevolent villain will have a small part in the film, many believe that the character will have a big impact on the storyline as he supposedly teams up with Thanos.

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Is Back in Avengers: Infinity War!

While the trailer isn’t available just yet, several updates about this year’s D23 event were released. According to reports, the video kicked off with fresh scenes from Infinity War which showed most heroes from the MCU colliding. It also displayed a montage of shots featuring Wakandan army with Bucky alongside, Captain America sporting a new beard, Black Widow with blonde hair, and Loki causing havoc.

Needless to say, Tom Hiddleston’s return in the film left everyone thrilled. The video featured one glorious moment in which the god of mischief stepped forward to present a gift to Thanos. Looking back, Thanos sent Loki to Earth for a specific purpose: to locate the Tesseract. At last, he had fulfilled the task as he clasped the Infinity Stone.

Originally, the English actor was slated to play a major part in Infinity War before Joss Whedon left the Marvel franchise. Since then, the film changed shape quite a bit under the direction of the Russo brothers. In March, the actor indicated that he was not sure if he will appear in the new Avengers installment. He said, “I don’t know! Honestly, I don’t know. They haven’t got their ducks in a row yet. They make it up as they go along.”

Loki, Thanos Will Team Up in the Upcoming Marvel Movie

Now fans know that Loki will appear in the upcoming film and his story will circle back to the first Avengers movie. The trickster owes Thanos an Infinity Stone, and the Mad Titan has surely come to collect.

A certain publication noted that Thanos’ obsession of “rebalancing the universe” did not particularly interest Loki, which means he might not really partner with the Mad Titan in his quest, despite helping him find the stone. This might be one of the tricks of the god of mischief – an attempt to convince Thanos to trust him in order to get close enough to strike.

Since there are no confirmations yet whether Loki and Thanos will team up for one cause, the shot may indicate that this is possible. Everyone should then wait for the premiere of Avengers: Infinity War trailer to witness Tom Hiddleston’s Loki.
