Germany postpones deportation flight of Afghan asylum seekers after Kabul bomb

The prime minister’s message came after a powerful truck bomb killed at least nine people and wounded scores of others in the Afghanistan capital’s diplomatic quarter today morning.Ismail Kawasi, spokesman for the public health ministry, says that the number of the wounded now stands at 350.The council strongly condemned the attack, saying that “carrying out such attacks in the holy month of Ramadan is completely against humanity”. The German army has helped in the stabilisation of the country for several years.In a statement carried by official news agency WAM, the UAE ministry said that the explosion caused some material damage to its embassy building in Kabul, adding that all its diplomats and embassy staff were safe.The BBC said that one of their staff, driver Mohammed Nazir, had been killed in the attack and that four BBC journalists had been injured.”The vehicle bomb exploded at the height of the morning rush hour on one of Kabul’s main streets”. The blast left a gaping crater, at least five meters (yards) deep.Also in the area is Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry, the Presidential Palace and its intelligence and security headquarters, guarded by soldiers trained by the US and its coalition partners.Some damage to windows and doors of Embassy was also reported. Militant groups usually plan attacks against locations and individuals with potential American connections, including: Afghan and US government facilities, foreign embassies, military installations, commercial entities, non-governmental organization offices, restaurants, hotels, airports, and educational centers. “It also highlights the hypocrisy of the enemy who claim that they only target Afghan Security Forces and Foreign forces, yet continue to cause death and suffering amongst innocent Afghans”.Local TV footage showed shocked residents soaked in blood stumbling about, then being ferried away to hospitals. The terrorist attack in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul has claimed the lives of 90 people, and almost 400 were wounded, the country’s healthcare ministry said.
