The same day that the new Castlevania animated series launches on Netflix, the streaming giant has made official a second season of the show that will come in 2018.The second season will apparently feature eight episodes, double the four episode length that the first season has.In an interview with CinemaRunner, Adi Shankar confirmed that despite Castlevania only becoming available to stream recently, Netflix have already green-lit a second season.”Well, let’s remember that this is just season one”.All the principle participants of the show’s first season appear to be onboard for Castlevania season two, which means that showrunner Adi Shankar, writer Warren Ellis, and voice actors Graham McTavish, Richard Armitage, James Callis, and Alejandra Reynoso will all reprise their respective on and off-screen roles. Best known as an iconic video game series, the Castlevania franchise tells the story of the Belmont family, who are on an eternal mission to rid the world from pesky vampires. The animated series is from Frederator Studios, a Wow! Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy that follows the last surviving member of the disgraced Belmont clan, trying to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes himself. Ellis also served as executive producer alongside Adi Shankar, who is now working on an animated series based on Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise.
