Nitish Kumar’s resignation: Three-member BJP panel to analyse situation in Bihar

They have always been scared of my father, but it seems they are scared of me too.The RJD chief added that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar never asked for Tejashwi’s resignation. “We are deeply disappointed by the news of Nitish Kumar’s resignation”, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said. The decision came hours after RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav declared that his son Tejashwi would not resign. In his fist comments since tendering the resignation of Nitish Kumar as Bihar chief minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav took a jibe against zero tolerance claim of Nitish Kumar. Nitish said it was becoming “difficult for him to work” and that he had followed his conscience. Immediately after the meeting, Nitish Kumar drove down to meet Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi at the Raj Bhavan and handed over his resignation. No option left apart from resigning as the chief minister of the state. The opposition BJP has declared that it would not allow the House to run over the issue of corruption charges made against Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav. Nitish Kumar has not sought his resignation. There is no bitterness between me and Nitish. The Congress, which is the third party in the grand alliance, has been trying to stop Nitish from removing Tejashwi from the cabinet, albeit unsuccessfully. After resigning as Bihar CM, Nitish Kumar said that he had quit in the interest of the state after failing to resolve a crisis plaguing the ruling Grand Alliance.Senior party leader Sushil Modi also said that BJP does not favour mid-term polls in Bihar and wants all legislators to complete their term.Kumar and Prasad, friend-turned-foe in state politics, sank their differences to revive an alliance that began over 40 years ago with the students’ agitation, which soon turned into a pan-India movement led by veteran socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan.BJP has chose to support him (Nitish), will support the government formed under him.”People of Bihar gave respect and regard to Mahagathbandhan based on our policies, principles and leadership”, he said.
