Ticketmaster asks Ed Sheeran fans to “please bear with us”

Granted, we don’t have access to Ed’s bank account, but he must be absolutely minted because tickets for his 2018 Divide tour have sold out in a matter of minutes.All told, something close to 300,000 tickets were sold today, which means Ed Sheeran sold the largest amount of tickets for a single artist in Ireland in one day.Ed Sheeran has added extra dates to his United Kingdom tour after tickets sold out within minutes.Ticket buying website ticketmaster.com saw their website crash after thousands of fans flooded the site in an attempt to secure tickets, and a spokesperson for the company has labelled it as their “busiest day ever”.After tickets went on sale this morning, Aiken Promotions and Ticketmaster urged fans to keep calm and not to constantly refresh their browsers.Ed will play Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Belfast, kicking off at Pairc Ui Caoimh in Cork on May 4 2018, with a second date at the venue on May 5.As well as this, the anti-touting measures for purchasing the tickets caused some delays in people getting a hold of tickets.The singer-songwriter will play two gigs at Pearse Stadium in Salthill on May 12th and 13th next year.There are still a limited number of tickets available for Wednesday 16th May in Dublin.In cases where a parent bought the tickets on their credit card for their child, the child will need to present a copy of the card as well as ID showing the family name.
