All the 'Frozen 2' Plot Spoilers We Know So Far

Frozen 2 is about to start production. Though the Frozen 2 plot remains a top secret, fans never run out of speculations on what the movie could be about.

Jonathan Groff, who voiced Kristoff in the original Frozen movie, revealed that he would start recording for the sequel very soon. “I think I just got an email yesterday where I’m about to go into the recording studio in a couple of weeks, or maybe a month? ” he said.

Groff, however, admitted that he has no idea on what Frozen 2 plot could be. “They’re about to really get into the thick of recording it, which I’m excited about. I don’t know anything about it yet other than I’m about to start recording my section of it,” he said. Groff added he would back in the recording studio along with directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

What We Know About Frozen 2 Plot

Disney has tons of plots to choose from should they consider fan theories about Frozen 2. For instance, there are speculations that Queen Elsa could be gay. Idina Menzel, who voiced Elsa, admitted that she was surprised when she first heard of the theory. But Menzel also revealed that she is excited about it and happy that the Queen of Arendelle sparked such conversation.

“Maybe at first I was a little surprised because it’s Disney, but I can say that I’m excited that the conversation is happening,” Menzel told PrideSource. But then again, the Let It Go singer is skeptical that Disney would be receptive to the idea. “I can’t promise anybody that that’s what’s gonna happen … But deep down am I really happy that it’s causing people to talk about it and have these kinds of conversations? Yeah, I am,” Menzel said.

Anna Has Powers

The directors of Frozen previously teased that Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) has powers, too. In a 2014 interview with HitFix, the directors answered questions about whether or not Anna has a power that she just hasn’t yet realized.

Buck and Lee, however, played coy in addressing Anna’s alleged powers. “We know what her superpower is: her superpower is love! She saves the day with love,” Buck said. Lee added, “You know, like a mama bear can raise a car off their kid with their super strength, love is very powerful.”

In addition, there are also rumors about Frozen’s connection to Wizard of Oz and Rapunzel. There are also speculations about Elsa as Evil Queen and Olaf having a girlfriend in Frozen 2. All of these remain speculations for now.

Fans have no choice but to take producer Peter Del Vecho’s statement that viewers will understand the original movie after they watch the second installment. “Now that we’ve been involved in it for awhile, what’s exciting is it feels like it builds on the first movie. You understand things better in the first movie after you’ve seen the sequel,” Del Vecho told Entertainment Weekly. Frozen 2 will hit cinemas on Nov. 27, 2019.
