X-Men: Dark Phoenix is in the works with Fox reportedly busy with three Marvel-themed films for 2018. While most still remember been generated until now.

X-Men: Apocalypse followed an erratic tale of uncanny mutants which traveled back and forth through the years. This has thrown some off, and plenty of questions cropped up with Logan, said to be the last we would see of Hugh Jackman.

With one mutant out, Fox has been known to alter the script and shift focus on other X-Men. And right now, X-Men: Dark Phoenix has been making some noise and somehow tied up to Jean Grey (Sophie Turner) who comic book fans also refer to as Phoenix.

Thanks to social media, some set photos cropped up revealing Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) donning new visors. The glasses have improved to carry a modern design, close to the straight lenses that the mutant actually wore in the comics and past films.

Technically a leak, fans have been held back on whether the photos are legitimate. Some point out Sheridan’s appearance on X-Men Apocalypse though a seemingly more matured Cyclops is to be expected in the next installment, Comicbook.com reported.

Despite all that, it seems highly likely that Scott Summers will get an upgrade following the discovery of his powers on X-Men: Apocalypse. But going back to the title of the film, it is largely looming to be about Jean Grey and her struggles to manage her powers.

Better than X-Men: Last Stand?

The transformation of Jean Grey to the Dark Phoenix was previously rendered on X-Men: Last Stand. The role was played by Famke Janssen, and most know how that turned out.

Unless the script is flipped, most remember how Cyclops was killed by Jean with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) eventually becoming the love interest. With Jackman done playing the part of the temperamental mutant, it will be equally interesting who will succeed him.

Jackman officially retired from the role but bared that Wolverine will be back and played by someone else, Cinema Blend reported. Age is obviously a factor here, so the hunt is on for the next Wolverine.

There have been names suggested by Forbes on who could succeed Jackman. The list includes actors like Tom Hardy, Shia LaBeouf, Penn Badgley, or even Kit Harington. There is no official word on who has the inside track so most may have to use their imagination. That would include factoring in the tough and temperamental personality plus the iconic hair and sideburns.
