Manchester United sign Victor Lindelöf

English giants Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Swedish defender Victor Lindelof on a four-year contract. The 22-year-old Swedish worldwide centre-back is described by United’s official website as “a versatile defender” and he will make his debut on the summer tour of the U.S. next month.Lindelof is Jose Mourinho first signing this season and his fifth in total and he was full of praise for the 22 year old defender. “I have enjoyed my time at Benfica enormously and I have learned a lot there”, the Sweden global said. However, the Red Devils are close to bringing in Benfica centre-half Victor Lindelof, who Mourinho wants to partner with Eric Bailly in a new-look line-up next season.’It’s a love that exists, I will not lie, ‘ Talisca told Globoesporte about Manchester United and Jose Mourinho. The 39-year-old, who holds the record Milan appearance record for a goalkeeper at 380 over 15 seasons, won three Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana as well as the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup during that time.Lindelof becomes United’s first signing of the summer transfer window, costing £30.9m up front, with the remainder of the balance to be handed over if certain agreed targets are met during the course of the defender’s stay in Manchester. He is the second centre-back to be signed by United manager Mourinho, following last year’s capture of Ivory Coast worldwide Eric Bailly from Villarreal. The Swedish global defender joins from Portuguese champions Benfica, and arrives presumably with a view to going straight into the starting lineup to partner Eric Bailly at the heart of the Man United defence. What the transfer means for United’s other in-house center backs – Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo – remains to be seen.In an interview with Portuguese news-site Globoesporte, Talisca said of a potential move: “It’s a question that I cannot answer… yet”.Do you ever have any question about anything you wish to ask and get answer?
