According to the latest NBA rumors, a Jimmy Butler trade to the Cleveland Cavaliers is possible. The Bulls are reportedly shopping Butler around to get an early start to their rebuilding process.

Latest NBA speculations suggest that Buttler is pushing the Bulls’ front office to send him to the defending Eastern Conference champions. The 27-year-old has reportedly spoken to LeBron James and Kyrie Irving regarding the move and both the Cavs superstars have agreed, according to Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Butler for Love

The Cavs are reportedly putting together a deal to pry Butler away from Chicago. The management is prepared to offer forward Kevin Love as part of the deal. However, they need to get a third team involved to sweeten the pot, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Butler has been in sensational form for the last three seasons. The 27-year-old has been named an All-Star in each of those seasons and he is coming off his best NBA campaign to date. He has averaged 23.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.9 steals per game in 2016-17. The man from Houston, Texas currently has two years remaining on his contract. However, he has a player option for 2019-20.

Cleveland not the only team in for Jimmy Butler trade

A Jimmy Butler trade is possible this summer. However, the Cavs is not the only team interested in his services. The Boston Celtics, Phoenix Suns, and the Minnesota Timberwolves have also reportedly contacted the Bulls to enquire about Butler, according to Vincent Goodwill of CSN Chicago.

According to Goodwill, Chicago went to the Celtics and offered Butler for the No. 3 pick of the 2017 NBA draft. It was a straight-up offer with nothing else attached. Reportedly, the Celtics said no to the offer.

“The Bulls were rebuffed on an offer to the Celtics for the third pick straight-up, but bringing the Cavaliers to the table could increase the quality of offers for Butler, who would be eligible for a deal in the $40 million range annually if he makes another All-NBA team next season,” Goodwill wrote.

It has to be noted that the Cleveland Cavaliers have reached the NBA Finals in the last three seasons. However, they are 1-2 against the Golden State Warriors and was destroyed in five games this year. Love performed inconsistently in the NBA Finals 2017. Hence, a swap for Butler could go a long way for the Cavs in closing the gap with the Warriors.
