Does Apple HomePod sound like a victor? | Logged On

Whether you care about majority is not what I’m here to talk about, but I did want to at least highlight the HomePod, which is Apple’s Google Home and Amazon Echo competitor. The pricing of Apple’s device was shared at the conference in comparison to both smart home speakers as well as premium audio speakers. “We want to reinvent home music”, Apple CEO Tim Cook said at the company’s WWDC keynote.Apple’s HomePod smart speaker has been delivered in competition with rivals Amazon & Google, using Siri voice assistant to work with Apple Music. It will also be more expensive than Sonos’s entry-level multiroom speaker, the Play:1, and the similarly priced SoundTouch 10 by Bose.Amazon and Google’s existing speakers have proved popular with consumers since the Echo launched in the United Kingdom in 2016 and Home earlier this year. It also needs to have “spatial awareness” to make the music sound good no matter the room size. Users can tell HomePod that they liked a song or to play more songs like the one they’re listening to. The HomePod is a compact smart speaker that’s capable of doing everything you would possibly expect from a product of its class. The technology giant also announced a new software kit for developers called ARKit, which will enabled app developers to build augmented reality apps on Apple’s platforms more easily. But the product seems directly inspired by existing smart speakers from Amazon and Google.Apple has introduced the HomePod, a voice-controlled speaker that will help carry out small tasks for the user such as turning on the light or increasing the temperature. HomePod’s room-equalisation feature sounds very similar to Sonos’ TruePlay, but Sonos is relying on Amazon’s Alexa for voice control. You can ask Siri to send a text message to your friend, start playing the latest episode of your favorite podcast, and get the latest updates in news, sports, traffic, and weather. In line with Apple’s M.O. the HomePod tries to keep everything in the family which explains the lack of support for anything outside of Siri and Apple Music. The HomePod won’t be coming before the end of this year and will carry a price tag of $349 ( Approx Rs 22,500).HomePod will be available for $349 (US) in white and space grey starting in December initially in Australia, the United Kingdom and the US.
