Quentin Tarantino Is Making A Manson Murders Movie

Tarantino is putting together a new film that would focus on the Charles Manson family murders, and in keeping with his trademark top-notch casting, the director is eyeing some major A-list names for the project. The project seems very different from Tarantino’s past work, starting with the fact it’s based on a horrific true story, not just a horrific period in time. One of those final films is about the Manson Family murders.According to THR, Tarantino will direct and is now putting the final touches on the script. Brad Pitt, who worked with Tarantino in 2009’s Inglourious Basterds, and Jennifer Lawrence are said to have been approached for the project. It’s not yet clear what role is being pitched for Pitt (though the actor did have a stand-out turn in Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was coming back for more). (There’s an Upside Down universe in which she played Jennifer Jason Leigh’s character from Hateful Eight.) Based on word from “sources”, Tarantino is finishing the script now, and that Bob and Harvey Weinstein are once again involved. Studios could receive the package after Labor Day, according to one source. Manson had sent his followers to a home he believed belonged to a record executive who had spurned him, but mistakenly entered Tate’s residence. Tate was eight months pregnant at the time, and four others were killed on that August evening. In 1971, Manson and three associates, Susan Atkins, Linda Kasabian and Patricia Krenwinkel, were found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for multiple murders, including Tate.Sorry Charlie, but Samuel L. Jackson won’t be singing “Revolution 9″, I mean reciting “Revelations”, in the upcoming movie on the Tate-LaBianca murders, but if anyone can bring the out the horrors of the scene it is Quentin Tarantino. As more time goes by and details start to take shape, Quentin Tarantino himself might be the first to announce certain plot points about the Charles Manson film that his fans are sure to get excited about.
