'Power' Season 4 Episode 1 Release Date: What to Expect from Ghost, Tasha and Tariq

'Power' Season 4 Episode 1 Release Date: What to Expect from Ghost, Tasha and Tariq

A week from now Power Season 4 Episode 1 will finally drop on the small screen. The anticipation of what lies ahead for Ghost and his family is high. As Ghost spends time behind bars, his wife and son are also facing a threat.

Fans know that James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) is going to prison after he was accused of killing FBI Agent Greg Knox. At the end of Season 3, Ghost’s ex-girlfriend, Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela Valdes (Lela Loren), arrested him for a crime he did not commit. While behind bars, Ghost will try to prove his innocence while his family’s safety is at risk.

Hardwick’s character is also on the verge of losing his business while he struggles between the man he wants to be and the one he really is. Executive Producer Courtney A. Kemp told Entertainment Weekly, “That’s why I call the first episode When I Get Out. It’s about him trying to keep it together because he knows he didn’t do it, and Angela is scheming and mad at him. She actually thinks he did it.”

What Will Happen to Tasha and Tariq When Ghost Goes to Jail?

As Ghost’s world crumbles, he will find support from his wife, Tasha St. Patrick (Naturi Naughton). She will try to keep her family together while Ghost is in jail and their son, Tariq St. Patrick (Michael Rainey Jr.), has been kidnapped. Though she supports his husband, it looks like Tasha will have a new love interest in Season 4.

In an earlier interview with HollywoodLife.com, Naughton teased, “They’re married, but at the same time, they’re dysfunctional as hell. I don’t know. Maybe she’s starting to wise up. I think this season you’ll see Tasha has a love interest. Over time, you’ll see that she’s like I’m tired of your crap [to Ghost]. At some point, a woman’s got say, ‘I’ve had enough.’ ”

Tariq, on the other hand, will be at the center of so much drama this season. In the finale of the previous installment, Kanan (Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) kidnapped Tariq. Ghost will find out what happened to his kid when Power Season 4 Episode 1 airs this weekend. There were speculations that Tariq will turn against his father because of Kanan.

Aside from facing a murder charge, Ghost is also losing control of his business. His friend and business partner, Thomas Patrick “Tommy” Egan (Joseph Sikora), will rise to the top and will be the new supplier while Ghost sits in jail. In a trailer for Season 4, Tommy is seen expanding his drug empire and selling his merchandise in Ghost’s club.

Meanwhile, Lala Anthony (LaKeisha Grant) also offered some hints on what to expect in Season 4. In an interview with Bossip, Anthony confirmed that her character is coming back and viewers will get to know LaKeisha better in Season 4. “Now, people get to see more of LaKeisha and what she is about and see her in different scenarios and relationships,” she teased.

The new relationship that the star is referring to is LaKeisha’s affair with Tommy. The two will have some daring scenes in the upcoming season. Anthony described the filming of her steamy scenes as “terrifying.” She explained, “We’re women. Anytime you’ve got to take your clothes off, it’s a terrifying thing. All I can do is hope that it worked out well.” Power Season 4 Episode 1 airs on June 25 at 9 PM ET on Starz.
