Chennai: Petrol bomb hurled at CPM office by unidentified persons

Miscreants hurled petrol bombs at the headquarters office of the CPI (M) at Coimbatore late last night. However, the driver’s side of the party vehicle was damaged. The miscreants who hurled the projectile would have watched Mr.Anandan’s movements because they hurled the bomb only after he left the office, Mr. Natarajan said. Later, Deputy Commissioner of Police S Lakshmi inspected the spot. One of the youth had his face covered using a handkerchief. As no CCTV camera is installed on the party office premises, police were scanning footage from nearby areas.Preliminary investigations revealed that neighbors have noticed youth on two motorcycles passed the party office stretch several times for the last few days. Police have registered a case and are investigating. After the incident, BJP has called district strike on June 8. DMK Working President and Leader of the Opposition M K Stalin condemned the incident and urged the AIADMK government not to remain a mute spectator to such acts. Therefore, the police take each and every incident seriously in Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore.”Opposing views should be countered by tolerance and opinions towards constructive politics”, he said.He urged the AIADMK government to not keep quiet when law and order is being disturbed by some forces.
