Another day, another huge National Basketball Association contract for an Australian.Restricted free agent forward Joe Ingles is finalizing the terms of a 4-year, $52 million deal to return to the Utah Jazz, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.It comes 24 hours after fellow Boomer Patty Mills struck a four-year, $US50 million ($A65 million) contract to stick with the San Antonio Spurs.Ingles also proved to be an invaluable defender, especially in the playoffs.The Aussie finished last season as the third-best three-point shooter in the National Basketball Association, hitting at a 44 percent clip from distance.Ingles, 29, had drawn interest from the Brooklyn Nets, among other teams, before deciding to remain in Utah.”I couldn’t think of a better place to come back”, Ingles told reporters after the Jazz were knocked out of the playoffs. “So, hopefully it all works out, and it’s a nice quick process, and we can all be back here as soon as possible”.The deal can not be finalized until July 6.Utah now hopes to land its biggest priority: All-Star small forward Gordon Hayward.The Jazz traded for Ricky Rubio on Friday to bolster the point guard positon as George Hill is an unrestricted free agent.
