Odisha to get three more Post Office Passport Seva Kendras

The Union Government has sanctioned opening of three more Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in the State.”I am pleased to inform you that as desired by you, we have made a decision to open ‘Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Balasore, Berhampur (Ganjam) and Bhawanipatna (Kalahandi) in the second phase of this scheme”, she said through the letter.The Ministry of External Affairs and the Department of Posts had earlier chose to utilise the Head Post Offices (HPO) and other post offices in the country as POPSK for delivery of passport-related services.This is published unedited from the PTI feed.Apart from centres in the post offices, the government had earlier also announced 16 full-fledged PSKs taking the total number of new centres to the “auspicious” 251, she said. “With that criterion for selection, today I announce 149 new POPSKs”, she said.The External Affairs Ministry and the Department of Posts have taken the decision to utilize the Head Post Offices for delivery of passport related services to the citizens of the country. From 2016, six KIPs a year are being organised.
