Police charge man with murder in death of missing teen

Fairfax County police announced Sunday (18 June) they found a body they believe to be that of a missing teen and that an individual has been charged with murder.Spokeswoman Tawny Wright said the teen had been walking with friends when she got into a dispute with a man in a auto early Sunday. The driver, Darwin Martinez Torres, 22, was identified as a suspect and taken into custody and charged with murder. The man stopped his auto and got out wielding a baseball bat and attacked Hussein, then disappeared with her.According to accounts from police and mosque officials, all of the teens except for one ran back inside the mosque.The girl, Nabra reportedly went missing earlier on the same day.Remains believed to be the girl were found about 3 p.m.in a pond in Sterling.Fairfax Police said that they were working to provide assistance to the family and thanked Loudoun County’s sheriff’s office as an “invaluable resource to this investigation”.Police say charges are pending further investigation.The chief medical examiner will confirm the identity of the victim and determine the exact cause and manner of her death.
