Shot at Gender-Reveal Party; 1 Person Dead

Authorities said a woman was killed and eight others were injured while gathering for a gender reveal party Saturday in Colerain Township, Ohio.The wounded victims were transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. One of the 911 callers said she was pregnant but had lost her baby after being shot in the leg, reports WCPO. Around 11:20 p.m., law enforcement walked into the home and found a woman dead on the floor. However, all have non-life threatening injuries.WLWT reported that Jim Love of the Colerain police has no idea what motivated the men to start shooting at a gender reveal party.Cincinnati police homicide detectives are assisting in the investigation.Other details relating to the victims’ identities had yet to be released, and one or two gunmen are on the loose, according to police. She told the operator she was sitting outside in a vehicle and heard gunfire. Police have not yet revealed whether the shooting was random or if the perpetrators knew their victims. They just ran in and started shooting.There is neither a name nor a description of the suspect, Love said, adding that a motive is unknown. When the shooting began, everyone was sitting down watching a movie. Police have made no arrests but were tracking down leads. It is not known if the children were intended targets.
