Trump appears to confirm he’s under investigation on Twitter

Mueller is also investigating whether President Donald Trump attempted to obstruct justice, The Washington Post reported Wednesday. The quake of news would have been 5-inch headlines in papers across the country – except for the tragic shooting in Virginia.Comey told a Senate panel last week he believed Trump fired him because of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Russian Federation probe. The obstruction of justice investigation into Mr Trump began days after Mr Comey was sacked on May 9, according to people familiar with the matter, the Washington Post said.”Why is that Hillary Clintons family and Dems dealings with Russian Federation are not looked at, but my non-dealings are?” he wrote Thursday afternoon.Until recently the investigation was focused exclusively on Russia’s meddling and possible collusion with the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.Trump ignored shouted questions from reporters about the ongoing Russian Federation controversy as he departed the White House Friday for Miami. Another report from the Post also claimed the president’s son-in-law and aide Jared Kushner’s finances and business dealings were under close examination.Trump’s Twitter response followed days of intensifying criticism of Mueller from some conservatives who have charged the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director and his team with political bias and have claimed his relationship to Comey and an earlier meeting with Trump amount to conflicts of interest. The transition order came the same day that Vice President Mike Pence’s confirmed that he had hired a private lawyer to represent his interests in the expanding probe.Virginia Sen. Mark Warner, the vice chairman, told CNN: “The criminal piece of the investigation will be handled by the special counsel, but if we find facts we can turn this over to the special counsel” and “report them” to Mueller’s office. The document would potentially substantiate a previous report that Trump had pressured both the NSA and the intelligence community to drop the Russian Federation inquiry.Examining such possible charges will allow investigators to interview key administration figures including Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and possibly Trump himself, said the source familiar with the Mueller investigation. Gingrich told The Associated Press in an interview this week that his feelings about him began to change after Comey testified to a Senate panel that he had leaked his personal memos in order to trigger the appointment of a special counsel. On Capitol Hill, Democrats saw only one headline from the latest series of Trump missives on Twitter.Mr Comey, who had been leading one of several Russian Federation inquiries, testified to Congress last week that the president had pressured him to drop the inquiry into Mr Flynn.
