In a heated interview on “Fox News Sunday”, Trump attorney Jay Sekulow insisted – as he did on the other Sunday political talk shows – that the president was not under criminal investigation, despite reporting from The Washington Post and the president’s own tweet that suggested he was a target of the investigation. The source said investigators have sought information from Richard Ledgett, who recently retired as deputy NSA director and, the source said, had written a memo documenting an attempt from Trump urging Rogers to tamp down on the FBI’s Russian Federation investigation. The president wrote on Twitter: “I am being investigated for firing the FBI Director by the man who told me to fire the FBI Director!”A Republican congressman on Sunday said President Trump should stop tweeting and allow special counsel Robert Mueller conduct the Russian Federation investigation.”He’s not afraid of the investigation – there is no investigation”, Sekulow said.”There has been no notification from the special counsel’s office that the president is under investigation”, Sekulow said.”Witch hunt” is how Trump characterizes the probe into Russia’s election interference and possible ties to his campaign associates. “If in fact it’s correct that the president is being investigated, he’s being investigated for taking an action that an agency told him to take.
