At least half a million Australian Muslims are participating in the month-long Ramadan fast that started in the country on May 26 and will end on Sunday, June 25.Eid-al-Fitr depends on the sighting of the moon and its celebration varies in different countries.Eid al-Fitr is celebrated in Saudi Arabia, the USA, the United Kingdom and Australia on June 25th and in India on june 26th this year.Such a precious month for all the Muslims as they involve in prayers, avoid eating, drinking, etc. Eid or Eid-al- Fitr, one of the most important festivals of Muslims, which marks the end of the sacred one month of Ramadan fasting. It marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, when Prophet Muhammad is believed to have had received the first revelation of the Holy Quran.The ruling to observe fasting during Ramadan was sent down 18 months after Hijra, during the month of Sha’ban in the second year of Hijra in 624 CE.According to Al jazeera television, “Turkey and Muslim communities in North America, Europe and Australia had previously announced they would celebrate Eid al-Fitr from Sunday June 25 based on astronomical calculations”. Muslims greet each other by saying “Eid Mubarak”.
